Then, it got physical between Paul and Askren.

Jake Paul just couldn't resist. During a press conference to promote his April 17 boxing bout with Ben Askren, Paul FaceTimed Askren's most notorious opponent — none other than Jorge Masvidal.

"Hey, it's your dad calling in, look," Paul said to Askren on the press conference stage Friday, holding up his cellphone to show Masvidal.

Of course, "Gamebred" memorably finished Askren in five seconds with a flying knee back at UFC 239 in July 2019.

“Are you still alive?” Masvidal said toward Askren, as Paul held his cellphone up to the microphone. “Tell him I like them flip-flops.”

Added Paul with a laugh: "He's still alive. Don't worry, I'm going to finish him off."

Part of the press conference also had Paul calling Askren a "p—y ass bitch," while Askren vowed that he could "do a homicide" on the YouTube sensation if he wanted to.

Although the trash talk was expected, things got physical when Askren palmed Paul's face following their staredown. Paul retaliated by shoving Askren in the back, before the two were quickly separated.

Paul, 24, is 2-0 as a boxer, including his infamous knockout of Nate Robinson in November, having slept the former NBA player and turning him into an instant meme.

Askren, 36, enters the boxing bout having lost to Masvidal and Demian Maia in July and October 2019, respectively, before exiting the UFC and retiring from MMA.
