Mike Tyson has named his favourite fighter competing today and the recipient is unbeaten super-middleweight, David Benavidez.
Tyson, a boxing historian who possesses a deep knowledge of the sport he made his name in, has shared his admiration for the Arizona fighter and has spoken highly on the boxer’s qualities.
Benavidez meets Caleb Plant this weekend and the winner will be at the front of the line to issue a challenge to Canelo Alvarez.

A bout between Benavidez and Canelo is one of the best fights that can be made in boxing, and the American could head into that fight with the backing of one of boxing’s most dominant performers.
“It’s just the consistency of punches and the aggressiveness,” said Tyson when speaking on Benavidez to ES News.
“There’s been no one that’s able to even hurt him yet. He’s my favourite fighter because everyone appears to be afraid of him. I don’t know if they are, but no-one’s fighting him.”
