The camp is being held in Tampa, Fla.

Canada will have some star power when the team convenes in Victoria, B.C., next week for the FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Ahead of the six-team competition — one of four qualifying tournaments being held around the globe to determine the final four entrants to the men's basketball competition at Tokyo 2020 — Canada Basketball has announced the 19-man roster currently attending training camp with head coach Nick Nurse in Tampa, Fla.

Included in the list are eight current NBA players, headlined by former NBA Rookie of the Year and No. 1 draft pick Andrew Wiggins and 21-year-old New York Knicks star R.J. Barrett. The duo is joined by an experienced core of players who have represented Canada in previous competitions, as well as a handful of promising NCAA youngsters.

The squad will be cut down to 12 players before the team heads to Victoria, where Canada will be placed in Group A along with Greece and China. The top two teams from the group will cross over to face the two best finishers from Group B (Uruguay, Czech Republic, and Turkey) in the semifinals, with the final on July 4 determining the lone Olympic qualifier B.C. tournament.

Despite boasting players from eight NBA rosters, Canada will miss out on many more from the high-profile league as several others dropped out of contention over the past few weeks. Khem Birch (Toronto Raptors), Oshae Brissett (Indiana Pacers), Dillon Brooks (Memphis Grizzlies), Brandon Clarke (Memphis Grizzlies), Kelly Olynyk (Houston Rockets), and Tristan Thompson (Boston Celtics) had all previously accepted invites to the camp but withdrew for various reasons. They would all presumably have the opportunity to join Nurse's squad should Canada qualify for the Olympics.

Additionally, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (foot), Toronto Raptors forward Chris Boucher (knee), and Jamal Murray (knee) of the Denver Nuggets were unable to commit to the camp due to injury concerns.

Canada faces Greece on June 29 before meeting China 24 hours later. All FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament games can be seen live on DAZN.
