Rising British super lightweight star Adam Azim has called out George Kambosos Jr following his knockout loss to Richardson Hitchins this past weekend.
Fighting on DAZN, Kambosos attempted to become a two-time world champion against IBF titleholder Hitchins, but the American struck with a left body shot in round eight which left the Australian in pain on the canvas.
This loss came just 13 months after being stopped by the now retired Vasily Lomachenko with some questioning whether time is up for Kambosos Jr in the boxing ring.
The former unified lightweight champion hinted at a possible retirement at Madison Square Garden's Theater, but then Azim issued a challenge to Kambosos Jr when responding to a tweet by BoxingScene.
"@georgekambosos let's get it on - Sept 25," Azim wrote on X.
Azim has fought just once in 2025 when he beat Sergey Lipinets by stoppage in February.
The undefeated super lightweight was scheduled to face Eliot Chavez on the undercard of Callum Simpson's clash with Ivan Zucco on June 7, however, the fight was then cancelled after it emerged Zucco used a sauna to make weight, which goes against the rules set out by the British Boxing Board of Control.
