From Olympic silver medallist to world champion, Amir Khan enjoyed a remarkable ride in boxing where he competed against some of the sport’s biggest names.
After turning professional in 2005 following his heroics as a 17-year-old at the previous year’s Olympics, Khan took his supporters on an incredible journey from Bolton to America as he became one of British boxing’s biggest stars.
A unified world champion at light-welterweight, Khan defeated several big names including Paulie Malignaggi, Zab Judah, and Devon Alexander, but there were also several tough nights for the entertaining fighter as he endured several big losses.
Khan was stopped by Canelo Alvarez , Terence Crawford, and Kell Brook, but despite those setbacks, Khan gave his career everything and was often value for money whenever he stepped into the ring.
Walking away from boxing in 2022 after suffering defeat against his great rival, Brook , Khan has been linked to several high-profile comeback bouts against the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, and KSI, but nothing has been confirmed as he still enjoys his retirement.
Khan faced many fast boxers during his 17-year career, but who does he consider the quickest? The answer is Zab Judah who he stopped in five rounds in 2011.
"Zab Judah was quick. I don't think I've ever faced anyone as quick as me. I just feel he was quicker than other people I fought,” said Khan when speaking to The Ring.
“His timing was perfect, and he had good speed with that and power as well. You had to be very careful that you didn't get caught with a big shot. Alexander was fast as well."
