Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua’s ring comeback could come quicker than planned after revealing he may fight this year.
The original plans for Joshua were intended to focus on the first quarter of 2026 as he pursues a major showdown with Tyson Fury next year.
The grand plan for Joshua is a mouthwatering clash with Fury, and after being rivals for over a decade, next year is intended to be the time when they finally collide.
Hearn will play a key role in Joshua’s comeback, and he has provided an update on when fight fans might see the former heavyweight champion.
“You may see him sooner rather than later,” said Hearn when speaking to IFLTV about what comes next for Joshua.
“There could be a possibility [we see him fight in 2025.] I’m not saying that’s for sure, but a lot depends on who he fights.
“I believe the more active AJ is going into a big fight at the middle end of next year, the better position he will be in. The motivation now is to get him 100% before he fights a Tyson Fury or Usyk.”
