Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol - Tony Bellew makes prediction for undisputed title clash
Beterbiev was the victor as his industry in the fight’s second half got him home on the scorecards and he was crowned undisputed champion.
Despite the fight only taking place four months ago, the pair are set to do it again when they clash on Saturday night, live on DAZN PPV.
Bivol will be aiming to be busier in the contest as his excellent start last time could not be maintained in the championship rounds.
Many onlookers believed that Bivol’s cleaner work in vast portions of the fight was enough to give him the nod, but he had to endure his first loss after 12 memorable rounds.
With the rematch fast approaching, the boxing community is once again split on the outcome with each man possessing unique strengths capable of securing victory.
Tony Bellew, a former world title challenger at 175lbs, was a huge fan of the original contest and he is backing Bivol to level the series.
“Once again it’s going to be a closely fought fight, but I just think Bivol can improve that little bit more,” said Bellew when speaking to DAZN News.
“Beterbiev is a few months older and there’ll be more miles on the clock from their first fight. Beterbiev might think he can start quicker and see it out again, but it’ll be hard for him to fight at a fast pace so quick after their first fight.
“A part of Bivol will think he should've had his hand raised in their first fight and the improvements he needs to make are only small. It’ll likely be close again, but I just think Bivol will be the fresher man.”
