Whittaker employs bizarre mascot stunt at weigh-in before Suarez bout

Ben Whittaker brought the entertainment before facing Braian Suarez after bringing a mascot version of himself to the weigh-in.

'The Surgeon' will bid for his second win under the Matchroom banner against the Argentine tomorrow night, live on DAZN.

Whittaker, a former Tokyo 2020 medalist, is just as known for his larger-than-life personality outside the ring as his skills within it.

But his latest stunt, in which he was accompanied to the scales by an oversized cuddly replica of himself, certainly caught the eye.

Whittaker is bidding to extend his unbeaten professional record, having put his lone blip - a draw with Liam Cameron - behind him.

His unexpected headline stint at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena came after Callum Smith was ruled out of his bout with David Morrell.

It offers another chance for the Olympian to impress, as he kicks off a year where he will also makes his professional debut stateside.

Talk of a major domestic bout with Willy Hutchinson has also been floated in some corners as the star continues to build his profile.
