It’s been over two years since Manny Pacquiao last fought but are we about to see the return of the Filipino legend?
Since losing to Yordenis Ugas in 2021, Pacquiao has participated in a couple of exhibition bouts but his former promoter, Bob Arum, is eager to get him back in the ring to face Josh Taylor.
The Scotsman has not fought since losing his 140lbs world title to Teofimo Lopez this past summer, but his name continues to be linked to huge fights.
A rematch with Jack Catterall is another possibility for Taylor, but Arum has admitted his intent in trying to stage a welterweight bout between Taylor and Pacquiao.
“A guy I’d like to get for Taylor is Pacquiao,” said Arum when speaking to Pro Box TV.
“I think that’d be a good fight, at a catchweight or maybe at 147. I think that’s a fight that Pacquaio would be interested in.”
