DAZN News rounds up the biggest stories on Monday, April 27.
Jared Anderson is out of his May 9 fight with Solomon Dacres.
The contest between the two heavyweights was due to take place on the undercard of Fabio Wardley vs. Daniel Dubois at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, live on DAZN.
However, it is reported that Anderson has suffered a torn bicep and will be unable to fight on the scheduled date which was confirmed in a statement from Queensberry Promotions.
Anderson signed a co-promotional deal with Queensberry Promotions in March and he hasn’t fought since his decision victory over Marios Kollias in February last year.
Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller could be set for a battle with US rival Deontay Wilder next.
Miller claimed a unanimous decision victory over Lenier Pero in their WBA heavyweight title eliminator in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The 37-year-old called out a number of opponents in his post-fight interview, including former WBC champion Wilder.
“He said a long time ago that he didn’t want to fight ‘Big Baby’ because I hurt his feelings,” Miller said of Wilder. “If you don’t shut your pie a-- up and come fight me, boy.”
It is also a fight that Miller’s promoter, Matchroom Boxing chairman Eddie Hearn, said he is keen to make.
Heard told The Ring: “When I look at the fights in the division as a promoter, you want a fight with great build-up.
“You want a fight with jeopardy. For me, the American fight is Deontay Wilder against Jarrell Miller. Run it in New York — that’s a serious fight.”
Ben Whittaker produced another dazzling knockout earlier in the month and has subsequently received praise from an unlikely source.
Whittaker needed less than a round to halt Braian Suarez in Liverpool on April 18 and he is set to make his US debut next.
That performance caught the eye of Liam Cameron, who was stopped by Whittaker in the second round their rematch last year.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Cameron said: “I’m so happy for Ben. I want him to go all the way. I want him to be a world champion.
“I hope he does. It will look better for me. I support him. I gave him a little message because I’ve shared a good experience with him, I just said, ‘Well done, amazing.”
