Carl Froch names the fighter who he thinks could be the next Floyd Mayweather
Devin Haney has earned many plaudits for his blistering display against Regis Prograis this past weekend.
Haney, competing for a world title in a second weight class, dominated Prograis from the outset as he dropped the New Orleans man on his way to a wide decision win that brought him the WBC title at 140lbs.
After capturing all four world titles at lightweight, Haney is intent on doing similar in the division above.
Set to face a number of interesting tests over the next couple of years that could include Teofimo Lopez, Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia, Haney has plenty of opportunities to enhance his legacy.
Carl Froch, a former world champion at 168lbs, has been impressed with what he’s seen from Haney so far
“I can’t blow smoke up his arse enough,” said Froch when speaking on his YouTube channel.
“What a top-quality fighter, only 25-years old. He’s got to be pound-for-pound top six, top seven. He’s definitely in the top ten now. He could be the next Floyd Mayweather. The world is his oyster.”
