Dave Allen 'nervous' before Arslanbek Makhmudov test - but not for the reason you think

Dave Allen admits he is "nervous" ahead of this weekend's bout with Arslanbek Makhmudov - but more for his young stars on the bill.

'The White Rhino' contends the biggest fight of his career this Saturday against the 'Lion' before a bumper crowd at Utilita Arena Sheffield.

Not only does it mark a major milestone for the fighter himself, but it comes with an undercard featuring several talents he has trained.

Reflecting on his journey, Allen professed his pride in guiding through the next crop of fighters, and insists he isn't going anywhere himself.

"I'm really proud," he exclusively told DAZN News. "I've always struggled to be nice about myself. But I'm the main event. It's magic.

"I'm all over the gaff. My boys who I train and manage, they're on the undercard. Three of the eight fighters train under me. I'm proud.

"I'm nervous about their bouts. I'm normally in their corner, and usually hold their hand, but they should be alright in there though.

"I've got a big scary guy myself. I've got a job to do, but I'm going to enjoy where I am at. The last twelve months, I've been dead serious.

"This is my job. I've been doing it a long time. It's about me now. I want to beat him and get the respect. I'll box anybody, anywhere, anytime."
