Leigh Wood drew a definitive line under his rivalry with Josh Warrington, as Bilal Fawaz upset the odds and Dave Allen secured a brutal stoppage in Nottingham.

Wood ends Warrington feud with assured performance

Having famously landed a seventh-round come-from-behind knockout against his rival last time out, Leigh Wood was happy to play the long game with Josh Warrington here.

'Leigh-thal' secured a comfortable unanimous decision against 'The Leeds Warrior', in what could well be the final professional bout for both men across their glittering careers.

Respective featherweight world champions during their time at the summit, Wood ensured he had the last word with a wide points victory to close out the pair's domestic feud.

Both men embraced after the final bell and results, with Wood stating he would take his old foe out for a drink afterwards, suggesting a thaw is on the cards between them both.

Fawaz dethrones Davis for Lonsdale Belt

Ishmael Davis arrested a run of narrow losses last year to take the British super-welterweight title against Sam Gilley in a bruising classic at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This time however, 'The Black Panther' came out on the wrong side of the result in his first Lonsdale Belt defence again, as Bilal Fawaz secured a majority decision victory.

The challenger appeared outfoxed in the first four rounds, but made excellent inroads as the fight progressed to achieve what represents the biggest win of his career thus far.

Fawaz holds no passport, having been trafficked to the United Kingdom as a teenager. His success here made for one of the stories of the weekend, a richly deserved reward.

Allen stuns with one-minute demolition

Both Wood and Fawaz had plenty of kind words for Matchroom Boxing supremo Eddie Hearn after the latter was blindsided by Conor Benn's defection to Zuffa Boxing this week.

Few delivered wholehearted support like Dave Allen however, who dispatched Karim Berredjem inside one minute of their heavyweight contest after a promise to his promoter.

'The White Rhino' has long been linked to a shot at the Lonsdale Belt himself, and having returned to winning ways here, could well book a potential shot sooner rather than later.

Either way, Allen's fulsome support for Hearn will have been a touching boost for the latter, as he figures out the future shape of his top roster heading into the rest of 2026.
