I fought in four different decades, I took on Lewis and Tyson, but who was the strongest fighter I ever faced?

Joshua vs. Prenga: Only on DAZN PPV - July 25

Evander Holyfield took on some legendary names during his illustrious career, but who does he consider to be the strongest fighter he ever faced?

After a successful amateur career, Holyfield turned professional in 1984 and embarked on an unforgettable journey that saw him reign as cruiserweight and heavyweight world champion.

Along the way, Holyfield beat some of boxing’s biggest fighters as he defeated Riddick Bowe and Mike Tyson. Holyfield also featured in a high-profile series with Lennox Lewis, where he held the Brit to a draw before losing in the rematch.

After losing to Lewis in 1999, many believed Holyfield’s career to be over at the top level, but he continued to fight until 2011 with mixed success.

In his final professional fight, Holyfield defeated Brian Nielsen, but he would feature in a couple of exhibition fights later on.

Despite tough tussles against many great heavyweights, Holyfield has stated that George Foreman was the strongest fighter he shared a ring with after defeating the all-time great in 1991.

“Out of all the people, I would say George Foreman was the strongest, and behind him, Lennox Lewis and Riddick Bowe,” said Holyfield when speaking to The Ring

"I could push anybody back, it wasn’t a problem. I couldn’t push George back. [Laughs.] You had to go around him.”
