Dillian Whyte wasted little time getting stuck into Joe Joyce when the pair came face to face at a press conference in Manchester to announce their April 5 fight, live on DAZN

Whyte and Joyce will clash on a huge heavyweight card that will see Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions kick off their coverage on DAZN

As well as Whyte taking on Joyce, Delicious Orie will make his professional debut and there is also an interesting clash between Richard Riakporhe and Lawrence Okolie.

Whyte enters the contest eager to return to the business end of the division and a win over Joyce could open the door for a potential world title shot in 2025.

The Brixton man has shared the ring with numerous elite operators, but his only world title shot to date saw him stopped by Tyson Fury almost three years ago

For Joyce, victory is a must if he is to fulfil the potential that many predicted for him when turning professional after winning an Olympic silver medal in 2016.

At the backend of 2022, Joyce appeared to be on his way towards a major title fight after impressively stopping Joseph Parker.

His excellent run of form soon took a downturn as he was stopped twice by Zhilei Zhang in 2023 before losing on points to Derek Chisora last year

Whyte is confident heading into the bout, and he had something to say about his upcoming opponent.

“Joe Joyce said he’s going to knock me out, we’ll see,” said Whyte when speaking to the media.

“He’s so f-----g boring. He’s the only man I know that can put coffee to sleep. Great fighter but a boring guy. So boring.”
