From almost starving to death in Jamaica to fathering a child at 13 and being shot and stabbed in London, the boxer has faced bigger challenges than 20-year-old Moses.

The 37-year-old said in an exclusive interview with DAZN: “I’m alive and I’m someone who shouldn’t be alive.

“And if I’m alive then I shouldn’t be the way I am.

“Sometimes I think it’s unbelievable; the people I’m able to reach and inspire with what I’ve done and how I’ve done it.

“No-one has ever looked after me and given me anything.

“No-one has planned my career. A friend of mine said ‘why don’t you quit and go and get a job?’

“But I love fighting. I have to fight and I'm here ready and willing to fight. I'm calm and humble but wild at the same time.

“When I’m gone, hopefully people realise ‘he fought anyone, he came to fight and he gave us good fights’.”

Asked about potential future opponents, Whyte listed Oleksandr Usyk, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

He said: “I’d love to fight Usyk because he’s a great fighter.

“But I’d also love to fight AJ and Fury again because they’re two guys I’ve lost to. I’d love a chance to avenge that.”
