Edgar Berlanga has put himself in a 'must-win' situation with his press antics before he fights Hamzah Sheeraz, with Antonio Tarver warning the star must back up his actions.
'The Chosen One' courted drama and controversy at Thursday's press conference, throwing money and lingerie at Golden Boy Promotions supremo Oscar De La Hoya.
Sheeraz seemed particularly bemused by the whole exchange, which has generated further hype for the pair's blockbuster clash at The Ring Magazine III tonight on DAZN PPV.
Speaking ahead of the weigh-ins however, former light-heavyweight world champion Tarver suggested Berlanga has now painted a target on his back, and must deliver the goods.
"A lot of things were going on," he said on DAZN. "I don't know if it was nerves or what, but I believe Berlanga, with his actions, has put himself in a must-win situation.
"Not only must-win, but [he has] got to look great doing it, or all of that could backfire tomorrow. It's not what you do, it's how you do it. We can love all of this.
"But if he does not perform, it can backfire. If Hamzah doesn't have that killer instinct, I think Berlanga is going have his way. He's going to have to step up."
