Edgar Berlanga and Hamzah Sheeraz headline The Ring III tonight in New York, in a fight that will bring the victor closer to a fight with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, live on DAZN PPV.
Berlanga has already stolen the spotlight in the build-up, engaging in a mouth dropping exchange with promoter Oscar De La Hoya at the final press conference, but can he back up his talking with his boxing?
Sheeraz cut a more reserved figure on stage, watching the heated confrontation unfold in front of him, but knows he will need to match Berlanga's intensity and aggression on Saturday night.
While no title is on the line, both know victory can open the door to another world championship shot, while defeat leaves them in the boxing wilderness.
Former unified super middleweight title challenger Berlanga is looking to continue his rebuild against ex-WBC middleweight contender Sheeraz
The former suffered a loss to Canelo last September but bounced back to winning ways with a first-round knockout against Jonathan González Ortiz in March.
His opponent meanwhile missed out on the WBC crown a division below when he drew with Carlos Adames in February, and, after recovering from a broken hand in that bout, now steps up a class for a new challenge.
This is a co-main event on another superb New York card, with the WBC lightweight title on the line when Shakur Stevenson and William Zepeda meet .

The fight is set to be held at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York City, United States , which will be the first time the tennis arena has hosted boxing.
The city has welcomed its share of fights already in 2025, including a historic fight night in Times Square where Ryan Garcia was stunned by Rolly Romero.
Berlanga starts favourite and he is also the natural 168lb fighter, but will that be enough against Sheeraz, who is eager to prove a point.
Many times against Adames, Sheeraz looked uninterested and like he had no answers, and Berlanga will be well aware he can have success on the inside against the taller man.
Look for Berlanga to make a fast start and go for volume rather than accuracy. That is his best chance of winning and if Sheeraz cannot match him, he may not be as lucky on the cards as he was against Adames.
As fight night has got closers the bookies have warmed to Sheeraz's chances, now installing him as the favourite at 8/11. Berlanga is now 11/10 with DAZN Bet to win. The draw is 16/1.
To win by knockout, Berlanga stands at 12/5, Sheeraz 3/1. On decision the Berlanga is 15/4 to win, Sheeraz 7/4.

"I’m the king of the first-round KO. You know I’m the king. I’m going to touch him in the jaw. (Sheeraz) is a f—ing giraffe. I’m going to touch his jaw.
For this fight, I'm the B side here really because Sheeraz is Turki's guy. I know he wants him to win.
"I can't let that happen. My back is against the wall and I just want to hurt him. I want to go in there and perform. I want to show the world what I can do, what I'm about.
"I know he will be at his very best because this is his moment, I'm his Canelo. So, I have to be the same.
"I want to win this and get my rematch with Canelo."
"He is a serious fighter. I respect what he brings and I know it will be a good fight.
"He is one of my toughest fights, but not better than I've fought before.
"Plan is to throw a few jabs and then stick a right hand on his chin and it's goodnight."
With just one professional loss between them - Berlanga's points defeat to the legendary Canelo - there is plenty of pedigree stepping into the ring for this blockbuster.
Berlanga will likely enter as the favourite, fighting at a familiar weight, and with the ruthlessness of being able to stand toe-to-toe with Alvarez in his back pocket.
Sheeraz meanwhile may feel he has a point to prove after looking laboured in his bid to take Adames on and failing to claim his belt earlier this year in Saudi Arabia.
