Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois will write the latest chapter in British heavyweight legend after they confirmed a blockbuster May bout in Manchester.
Wardley will put his WBO belt on the line against the former IBF champion, bidding to rebuild his reputation after losing the strap to Oleksnadr Usyk in July.
Both considered among the new guard in the glamour division despite success to their names already, each man knows further glory will await the winner.
Furthermore, they will have the chance to write a new page into domestic folklore by contesting for one of the sport's biggest prizes with no quarter given.
Ahead of what looks set to be a major acid test for both men, DAZN News looks back on the other major heavyweight title fights between British fighters.
The first bout for a major heavyweight strap between two Britons, Lewis was WBC king after Riddick Bowe vacated, making his first defence against Tony Tucker.
He returned home to face Bruno, a former two-time title challenger, at Cardiff's National Stadium, where the latter pushed hard and kept the champion guessing.
A loping left in the seventh helped Lewis secure a stoppage and another victory. Bruno would ultimately become champion in 1995 against Oliver McCall in 1995.
The only world title fight between British heavyweights held overseas, Lewis had lost and then regained the WBC crown against McCall in the prior four years.
He headed to the edge of Lake Tahoe for this latest assignment, after Atlantic City was scuppered due to Akinwande's promoter, Don King, being banned there.

The fight was a drab affair. The challenger repeatedly held Lewis in clinches, with referee Mills Lane finally disqualifying him in the fifth round to end the contest.
Almost a decade-and-a-half down the line, Sydney 2000 hero Audley Harrison finally succeeded Lewis and fulfilled his status as Britain's heavyweight hero.
Unfortunately for him, cruiserweight operator Haye had got there first after dethroning Nikolay Valuev a year prior, and stopping ex-champion John Ruiz afterwards.
It was a bizarre contest at Manchester's MEN Arena. Harrison landed just two punches across a tepid three rounds, and Haye eventually overwhelmed him by TKO.
The only man, bar Lewis - and perhaps until Dubois - to contest multiple world title bouts against British rivals, 'The Gypsy King' managed the feat twice in 2022.

Having climbed off the canvas to draw and then dethrone Deontay Wilder twice, Fury was set to face mandatory challenger and WBC interim champion Whyte.
At a raucous Wembley Stadium, the champion overpowered his foe, switching stances across six rounds before securing a TKO stoppage to retain his crown.
Having hung up his gloves in August, Fury promptly reversed course two months later and set up a trilogy bout with his old rival Chisora to round off the year.
The former had been frustrated by failed attempts to secure a shot at unified champion Usyk, and arrived at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium seeking a statement.
Chisora proved his durable quality once again, but offered little to truly trouble Fury, ultimately taking him into the tenth round before the contest was waved off.
Ahead of what looks set to be his latest bid for the title, it may be worth remembering just what happened when 'Dynamite' last fought a fellow countryman.

Elevated to the IBF title after Usyk vacated the belt, Dubois was considered a rank outsider for his first defence against Joshua, billed as second fiddle.
Instead, he demolished the former world champion inside five rounds, flooring him multiple times en route to a sensational stoppage at Wembley Stadium.
