Another week of busy boxing action has been and gone, with several big names making a splash as they returned to the ring in style.

Tyson Fury overcame Arslanbek Makhmudov to shake off the cobwebs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, eyeing Anthony Joshua next up.

But even as 'AJ' held out on confirming details of a long-awaited dance, the pair were not the only ones with a story of their own to tell.

Fury returns to a hero's welcome

Having announced his retirement after a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk last year, 'The Gypsy King' reversed course in January.

In what was his first bout on home soil since 2022, Fury comprehensively outclassed Makhmudov and snapped his losing streak.

More than that, on a blockbuster ring walk, throughout and after, he was serenaded by the fans - a true hero's welcome back.

Joshua keeps fans guessing

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh suggested strongly before Fury's bout that he would announce a clash against Joshua afterwards.

Ultimately, 'AJ' kept everybody - including the powerbrokers - guessing, refusing to join his rival in the ring for a face-off instead.

Broadcasters Netflix shouted on social media that the deal was done afterwards, but it appears there are details yet to be sorted.

Spurs reaffirms top-notch credentials

After last year's blockbuster Chris Eubank Jr.-Conor Benn bouts, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium showed its host credentials again.

The newest major stadium on British shores, it continues to represent a true cauldron-like environment for the biggest nights.

Demand likely means Wembley Stadium or Croke Park gets a Fury-Joshua bout - but for many, this remains the top-notch pick.

Benn takes next step towards title shot

Speaking of Benn, he sent Regis Prograis into retirement with a performance that the scorecards suggested was dominant.

It was less clear-cut than that, but at the very least, the Briton has taken another key step towards the title shot that he wants.

Having fought at a three-pound catchweight above welterweight here, perhaps 'The Destroyer' may want another test first.

Riakporhe tees up leading man status

In the only main card bout on Saturday night that featured silverware, Richard Riakporhe stopped Jeamie TKV in fine fashion.

The result earned the former two-weight champion status with the Lonsdale Belt, adding heavyweight to his cruiserweight crown.

Now, 'The Midnight Train' will fancy himself pushing deeper into a crowded heavyweight division, though far he goes remains to be seen.
