The British heavyweight scence has been thriving for a long time.

David Price was once considered Britain’s most feared heavyweight prospect during his incredible rise through the professional ranks.

After turning pro in 209 following a successful amateur career, Price bludgeoned his way to fringe world level before being halted twice by Tony Thompson in front of his own fans.

At the time, Price was on a collision course with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, two fighters he’d shared a ring with when fighting Fury in the unpaid code and sparring with Joshua.

Unfortunately for Price, other defeats prevented him from competing with both and he expressed his regret at not getting his chance to test himself against Britain’s leading heavyweights.

“Those big career defining fights, even win, lose, or draw, I didnt quite make it to them,” said Price when speaking to DAZN via Offers.Bet

“It’s one of those where I have to accept that I didn't have what it took to get to that level without a little bit of luck along the way. Some people get that luck, some people don’t, and I didn't get it.

“It’s a shame really as well because I think they would’ve liked to have crossed paths with myself.”
