Is Fury-Till the fight to take Misfits up another level?

It’s not for everyone, but the latest instalment of Misfits Boxing was a huge success, and it appears that it’s only going to get bigger if Tommy Fury can land another huge contest, perhaps one with more jeopardy. 

Last weekend saw all corners of the social media world combine for an event that although lacked the quality usually seen on professional boxing shows, it delivered with characters, narratives, humour, and energy. 

This isn’t boxing as we know it, but if one can differentiate Misfits from the traditional boxing sense then as a standalone product, it has plenty to offer its audience who are more than comfortable watching events with the wackiness that Fury vs Hall delivered. 

Big Stacks being punched by Jordan McCann was the incident that exploded the show into life earlier in the week and when the pair featured in separate fights, their reward for both losing could be a future showdown between two men who can promise action regardless of whether they deliver it or not.

McCann arguably stole the show with his volatile behaviour all fight week, but with Fury as top billing and Ibiza Final boss earning plaudits, Misfits emerged from the show with a lot more credit in the bank and plenty of directions to head in. 

Big Stacks vs Jordan McCann is one way. McCann against the man he was defeated by, Ibiza Final Boss, is another route, and then what about Fury? The poster boy of Misfits who has defeated Jake Paul, KSI, and Eddie Hall, is him taking on Darren Till the biggest fight that can currently be made for Misfits?  

At the backend of 2024, Fury and Till came together at a press conference to announce a fight for the following year, but what ensued was absolute chaos, the type of madness associated with Misfits. Till, an MMA specialist with wonderful successes in the UFC launched an attack on the entire Fury family before promising to kick Tommy if things were not going his way in the fight. 

Till and John Fury had to be separated by security and in the following days, Tommy pulled out of the bout as he expressed concern for his own safety following Till’s threats. Since then, Till has impressed in both Misfits and the bareknuckle boxing world, but his attendance at Fury vs Hall suggests he is still eager to finally settle the score with his former rival. 

Till and Fury have plenty of history

Almost two years ago, their media day antics became a huge story and despite the fight not taking place, the feud has not cooled down at all. Fury has ushed on with his own career to decent success, but there’s no doubt that Till has impressed even more after making the transition from the cage to the ring and becoming an even bigger name in the process. 

Fury vs Hall was a major blockbuster for everyone involved with Misfits Boxing. They might just be scratching the surface though as Fury going against Till could take them to an even higher level. What happens after that remains to be seen, but for now, Misfits is on a roll, and it could be about to pick up even more speed if common ground can be found by two fighters who have contributed massively to their success.
