The skyrocketing trajectory of Moses Itauma is about to face its sternest test yet.
According to The Ring, the undefeated heavyweight knockout artist will clash with battle-tested veteran Dillian Whyte in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on August 16.
A statement victory and the 20-year-old Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) will reach contender status toward a world title opportunity in the near future.
Itauma will enter the bout having won eight straight fights by the way of knockout, registering a second-round devastation of Mike Balogun in Glasgow, Scotland as his latest nightmarish display.
Even at 37, the experience and savvy that Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) brings, as a two-time interim heavyweight world champion and former heavyweight world title challenger, should mark a significant examination for Itauma to pass.
Since being flattened by Tyson Fury via sixth-round TKO back in April 2022, Whyte has pieced together a three-fight win streak, having last disposed of Ebenezer Tetteh in seven rounds.
