Darren Till has revealed that he was close to agreeing a deal with Jake Paul’s MVP before making the switch to BKFC.
The popular Liverpool fighter, a former UFC superstar, has recently been competing for Misfits Boxing and he has scored some impressive wins over the likes of Anthony Taylor and Luke Rockhold.
As well as scoring big victories, Till has also been linked to several high-profile fights and he was nice close to securing a showdown with Tommy Fury.
The pair agreed to a contest, but a major spat at a press conference to announce the fight saw Till say he would kick Fury if the fight wasn’t going his way and that forced Fury to pull out of the contest.
As well as Fury, Till has also been linked to fights with Carl Froch and KSI, but it now looks like his immediate future will take place in the bareknuckle boxing space with his maiden appearance there set to take place later this year.
Till looks to be a fighter in demand and after agreeing to join BKFC, Till has now admitted that there were other lucrative options available for him.
"We had been in talks, my manager and I, with MVP for a while," said Till when speaking to Talksport.com .
"We went back and forth. They were really keen to have me, and obviously that would have been good for them to build a Jake Paul fight with me but eventually, what came to fruition was a good deal being offered to me by BKFC.
"There was no way I could have sat there at night and even pondered about it. There was no way I could have turned it down. It was too good. I spoke to a few friends, and my missus, and they all told me 'You would be absolutely mental to turn that down.’”
