Jaime Munguia fights for the first time in 2023 when he takes on Sergiy Derevyanchenko live on DAZN on Saturday.
The 26-year-old super middleweight has championships at lower weights to his name but he is keen to collect more straps, and a win against the 37-year-old Ukrainian might boost his chances of a title clash.
Currently that would come against undisputed 168lb champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, who may be looking for a new opponent if he cannot set up a rematch with Dmitry Bivol.
DAZN takes a look at the career of Munguia ahead of this huge fight below.
Jaime Munguia boasts a 41-0 professional record with 33 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
Jaime Munguia has been world champion at super welterweight but as 26 has moved up to super middleweight. Before then, he took a number of championships in his nascent career.
In February 2018, he claimed the vacant WBC Latino super welterweight title after knocking out Jose Carlos Paz in Cancun.
In May that year he secured the WBO super welterweight strap by defeating Sadam Ali.
In October 2020 he defeated Tureano Johnson to secure the vacant WBO inter-continent championship at 160lbs.
The undefeated fighter took on perhaps the biggest name of his career when he faced the experienced Gabriel Rosado in November 2021.
Fighting the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, he arrived as the clear favourite, and won by a comfortable 118-110, 119-109 and 117-111 margin.
The main card begins at 8 p.m. ET / 1 a.m. BST with the main event ringwalks scheduled for 11 p.m. ET / 4 a.m. BST. These timings could change due to the length of the undercard fights.
