Ennis vs Lima - only on DAZN - Saturday

Jaron Ennis has outlined his plans to rule multiple weight divisions ahead of his first fight at super welterweight this weekend.

Ennis is set to headline in his hometown of Philadelphia against Uisma Lima on Saturday night as he looks to get himself into the title mix at 154lbs.

The 28-year-old unified the welterweight division earlier this year and is now seeking to conquer a second weight class. But Ennis is adamant he is only just getting started.

Asked about his future plans, Ennis told Inside The Ring: “For me, my legacy is to collect those belts. To be a multiple weight division champion, undisputed at 154 if possible, and keep doing it at each and every weight class.

“154, 160 and maybe 168. That’s my goal, to fight these types of guys. And it’s going to happen. One by one, we’re going to bring them.”

Ennis indicating that he wants to be an undisputed champion at three different weights highlights how ambitious he is.

Terence Crawford is the only man in boxing history to completely unify three divisions following his victory over Canelo Alvarez last month.

Ennis could have his work cut out to replicate his fellow American’s remarkable feat due to there currently being four different champions at super welterweight.

There are also three titlists at middleweight, while Crawford holds all the super middleweight belts, He is currently pondering his next move which could see him drop down to 160lbs or potentially head into retirement.

For now, Ennis’s focus is on making his mark at super welterweight. If he can get past Lima, he will not be short of options for his next fight.

Ennis, who is unbeaten in 35 professional bouts, has been heavily linked with a fight against WBC interim champion Vergil Ortiz Jr.

He could also target a full world champion to get his title charge underway. The four super welterweight belts are currently held by Sebastian Fundora, Xander Zayas, Bakhram Murtazaliev and Abass Baraou, respectively.
