I shared 24 hard rounds with Joseph Parker, I have sparred Fabio Wardley, here is my big fight prediction
Derek Chisora has backed Fabio Wardley to cause a major upset this weekend when he faces Joseph Parker at London's O2 Arena.
The heavyweight blockbuster, live on DAZN, sees two in-form fighters collide with a shot at Oleksandr Usyk’s undisputed title the likely reward for whoever comes out on top.
Chisora, who is set to the ring later this year, is perhaps the most qualified to offer a verdict on this fight after spending time in the ring with both boxers.
In 2021, Chisora was unfortunate to get the nod against Parker when they first clashed as the New Zealander won on points despite being dropped in the opening round.
In their immediate rematch, Parker was much improved, and he was able to floor Chisora three times before winning clearly on the scorecards.
As well as sharing 24 memorable rounds with Parker, Chisora has also sparred with Wardley so he knows full well what both men will come across when the first bell first sounds on Saturday night.
“My prediction for Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley, I feel like Wardley wins this fight with a knockout,” said Chisora when speaking to Queensberry.
“I don’t know why I’m thinking it but you know when you know, it’s like when you play the lottery and you get your numbers right. I believe Fabio has got his numbers right now ’cause after his last performance he’s got something to prove.
“I’ve known Fabio for a while, Fabio is a little beast. Joseph is a beast as well, but Fabio Wardley will win this fight by knockout. Trust me on this. Put your house on this deal. It’s going to be electric.”
