Kieron Conway ready to 'shut up' British rival ahead of York Hall showdown

Kieron Conway is ready to 'shut up' George Liddard when the pair meet at York Hall on Friday night. 

Conway's British and Commonwealth middleweight titles will be on the line, live on DAZN, in what will be his first defence of the Lonsdale belt. 

There is a clear gap when it comes to experience, Conway has 27 professional bouts under his belt, while Liddard is unbeaten in his 12 fights as a pro. 

With three losses on his record, Conway has experienced the highs and lows this sport has to offer, but his recent success he believes is down to a change in mentality.

"Some of my previous performances when I was a bit younger, maybe I was more concerned about not losing," Conway said during Thursday's press conference.

"Things happen in your career; things happen in your life – I think they flick the switch for me. Now I want to hurt these guys."

Conway quickly moved on to discussing his upcoming opponent and made claims that Liddard is a deluded fighter ahead of the opening bell.

"I don’t believe the confidence at all. I think that he’s convinced himself, he’s looked in the mirror enough times and said these quotes that he keeps putting out there," Conway continued.

"I just don’t think that it’s true. I definitely don’t believe the hype. Friday night, I just want to shut him up."
