Two-weight world champion to feature on Usyk vs Dubois Wembley undercard
Two-weight world champion and former Olympian Lawrence Okolie (21-1, 16 KOs) is set to appear on the undercard of the undisputed heavyweight title fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium.
Taking place on July 19 and exclusively live on DAZN PPV, Okolie will be going up against South Africa's Kevin Lerena (31-3, 15 KOs), a former rival of Dubois'.
After winning world titles at cruiserweight and bridgerweight, Okolie finally made the move to heavyweight in December when he knocked out Hussein Muhamed in the first round at OVO Arena Wembley.
Lerena has caused problems for British heavyweights in the past. His fight with Dubois three years ago saw him almost upset 'Dynamite' who was down three times in round one, but the South African was eventually stopped in the third.
British and Commonwealth light heavyweight champion Lewis Edmondson (11-0, 3 KOs) will also feature on the Usyk-Dubois undercard when he takes on Ukraine's Daniel Lapin (11-0, 4 KOs).
After beating fellow Brit Dan Azeez to claim the vacant 175lb Lonsdale and Commonwealth belt, Edmondson made a successful defence of the latter against Oluwatosin Kejawa in March.
Lapin, who is a part of Team Usyk, is fast becoming a hard-hitting operator at light heavyweight with four of his last five wins coming by way of knockout, and his last outing in December saw him beat Dylan Colin on points in Riyadh.
With both Edmondson and Lapin undefeated in the professional ranks, it should be an entertaining matchup with both men looking to force themselves into world title contender status.
