Edgar Berlanga looked good last weekend.

Edgar Berlanga was back to his destructive best this past weekend as he scored an impressive stoppage over Padraig McCrory.

Now the popular Puerto Rican is on the radar of the leading fighters at 168lbs and that includes the highly talented Cuban, David Morrell Jr.

Berlanga, once considered one of boxing’s most powerful punchers due to his blistering stoppage streak, has had to make do with going the distance in recent times.

That all changed last Saturday when blasting out McCrory in six rounds, and although Berlanga now has his sights set on Canelo Alvarez, he’s gaining attention from other fighters.

"Berlanga is simply not on my level. I've watched his fights, and I see nothing that worries me. Berlanga sucks, and I would destroy him,” said Morrell in a prepared press release.

“If we ever step into the ring together, I'll knock him out in one round, guaranteed. I'm here to prove that I'm the best.

"Whether it's Berlanga, or anyone else, I'll be ready to step into the ring and show the world what I'm made of. I’m the best fighter in the super middleweight division, and soon everyone will know that."
