Two world title fights added to undercard for Mario Barrios vs. Ryan Garcia

The countdown is on for the WBC welterweight world title fight between Mario Barrios and Ryan Garica, and with less than a month to go, the undercard has been confirmed. 

Taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on February 21, and broadcast exclusively live on DAZN PPV, two additional world title fights will be taking place in the fight capital of the world. 

In the co-main event, IBF super lightweight champion Richardson Hitchins will make the third defence of his world title against Mexico's Oscar Duarte.

Whoever comes out on top in this matchup could set themselves up for a unification bout against newly crowned WBC champion Dalton Smith, or the winner of this weekend's WBO and Ring Magazine 140lb clash between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson. 

This is not the only super lightweight title fight taking place with Gary Antuanne Russell defending his WBA belt against Japan's undefeated Andy Hiraoka. 

Hiraoka is the mandatory challenger for Russell's WBA title, but this will be the former's first fight in two years after beating Ismael Barros by knockout. 

There is more super lightweight action with Frank Martin and Nahir Albright going head-to-head, while the super middleweight contest between Bektemir Melikuziev and Sena Agbeko will open the card. 

Taking to social media, Garcia labelled the undercard as "insane" ahead of his world title challenge which to some is controversial.

Despite losing to Rolando Romero in disappointing fashion last year, and his win over Devin Haney being declared a no-contest after failing a drugs test, Garcia has been given a world title shot, but if he gets the win, some major matchups await.

One of those could be against British star Conor Benn, who after beating Chris Eubank Jr. at middleweight, will move back to 147lbs and look to challenge for the WBC's belt before the end of 2026.
