Moses Itauma: Planning a short night against Dillian Whyte
Moses Itauma has revealed that his game plan remains the same ahead of his biggest test against Dillian Whyte this Saturday in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking in an interview with Queensberry Promotions, the young Brit said that he has no plans to stay in the ring for any longer than necessary because his purse remains the same, regardless of when the fight ends.
Itauma said: “You know I get paid the same if the fight goes round one or round ten? So why on earth would I want to be in there for ten rounds if I can get paid the same amount in round one?”
Many think that Whyte will be a good opportunity for Itauma to gain valuable ring experience. But Itauma says if he has the opportunity to get the veteran heavyweight out of there, he will not hold back for the sake of experience, as Whyte is too dangerous to give a second chance.

Itauma explained: “If I hit Dillian Whyte with a good shot, I'm not going to be like, ‘Let me ease up here and get the rounds in’ because the round later, he is going to hit me with a good shot. He’s not going to say the same thing, he’s going to take me out.”
Whyte has not shown his killer side for some years now, as we saw against Joseph Parker or Alexander Povetkin. However, the motivation to return to the world stage and beat a young prospect like Itauma could make him as dangerous as ever.
Saudi boxing boss, Turki Alalshikh, said that he wants to see Itauma in with the undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk next, which is another massive step up if he can beat Whyte. However, Itauma said that after hearing the news, it gave him the extra motivation to head out for an additional training session to ensure he is ready if that opportunity presents itself.
Itauma said: “If I beat Dillian Whyte and this fight [against Usyk] gets presented to me, I need to be ready, it’s an extra bit of motivation.”
