'Bad timing!' - No foe switch for Moses despite title prospects

Moses Itauma's order to face Frank Sanchez is "bad timing", with Ben Davison still expecting his star to face Filip Hrgovic.

The Briton is set to face the Croatian on August 29 at London's The O2 Arena, live on DAZN Pay-Per-View and Ultimate.

But the abrupt decision by Oleksandr Usyk to vacate his heavyweight crowns has opened up a power vacuum at the summit.

Moses has subsequently been served with orders by the IBF to face Sanchez - but Davison expects no change in plans for now.

Mason vs. Bell Highlights

"It's bad timing," he told iFL TV. "Maybe there should have been more communication from Usyk in regards to the organisations.

"But then again, maybe it was a last-minute decision. It is what it is. We're seven weeks out from a date now, so we will see.

"I think that it's Queensberry's job to discuss and decide, but as far as we know, we're preparing for Filip Hrgovic on August 29."

Moses is highly ranked with multiple bodies, and with victory in his next bout, could yet secure a title shot before the end of 2026.
