Moses Itauma vs Dillian Whyte was made because of the fans, says Frank Warren

The man being touted as the next big thing in boxing returns on Saturday as Moses Itauma battles Dillian Whyte from Saudi Arabia, live on DAZN PPV. 

Up to this point in his short career, Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) has steamrolled through the competition. Opponents have been hard to find for Itauma's promoter at Queensberry Promotions, Frank Warren. That was until the former world title challenger and one of England's top heavyweights of the last ten years stepped up to the plate.

"A lot of people are avoiding Moses, a 20-year-old undefeated prodigy," Warren said at Thursday's press conference. "He’s firmly established himself. The only man who was willing to step up to the gauntlet was the warrior, Dillian Whyte.

"He always comes to fight. Been on the scene a long time. Fantastic credentials. And you’ve only got to look at him to see how hard he's trained for this fight and the condition he’s in and the mental attitude he’s got."

Looking at their fighting styles, one would assume that Itauma and Whyte are not going to give an inch to the other and will be looking for the knockout. It's a style boxing fans love, and why Warren made the fight.

"This is the fight the fans want to see," Warren said. "The young up-and-coming guy against the guy who's proven himself again and again in the ring."
