Nonito Donaire is enjoying life as the trainer of Michael Zerafa as the Australian star gets ready to fight for his first world title against Erislandy Lara this weekend.
Zerafa meets the veteran Cuban with a big prize on the line and the former pound-for-pound star is impressed with what he’s seen from his new charge.
As a fighter, Donaire was fully aware of what it took to operate in the biggest fights as he enjoyed many legendary battles whilst winning multiple world titles.
Donaire is hopeful he can add much expertise to Zerafa and he’s backing him to defeat Lara and he’s also had his say on how a potential fight with Tim Tszyu will play out.
"When Michael’s mind is on, nothing can stop him, and I know that because I’ve trained with him. Know because I’m training him,” said Donaire when speaking with Fox Sports Australia.
