Usyk teases second option as Wilder remains 'last dance' priority

Oleksandr Usyk has teased he has two options for his farewell fight, but the star would still prefer to battle Deontay Wilder.

The Ukrainian vacated his trio of heavyweight straps in the wake of a surprisingly narrow victory against Rico Verhoeven.

That has cleared the path for what the star has termed a "last dance", before he hangs up his gloves and retires for good.

Having pursued former WBC champion Wilder in late 2025, Usyk has returned his attention to 'The Bronze Bomber' now.

But in an interview with The Athletic, the veteran has teased that there is one other pick on the table that is under wraps.

"Now we have two options, but what for me is good, we will take," he stated on his future plans. "The team is working on it."

Asked if he would pursue Wilder, Usyk doubled down on the American, adding: "Why not? If Deontay's team wants it, I do it."

The former last fought in April, when he outpointed Derek Chisora in the latter's reported farewell bout in a London slugfest.
