Opetaia wins Zuffa's first world title

The pair clashed for newly created Zuffa cruiserweight title, and it was Opetaia who won by unanimous decision.

After being stripped of the IBF cruiserweight title in the days prior, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Opetaia.

The Australian is still the Ring champion at 200lbs, but it remains to be seen whether he can achieve his dream of becoming the undisputed ruler at cruiserweight.

Rivals Dubois and Harper contest vacant Ring title

On April 5, MVP's first show in the UK is set to be an exciting one with an all-women's fight card at London's Olympia.

The main event will be the long-awaited WBC and WBO lightweight title unification between Caroline Dubois and Terri Harper, and a historic title has been thrown into the mix.

In addition to the two world title belts, Dubois and Harper will also be competing for the vacant Ring women's lightweight title, meaning the winner will be crowned the number one fighter in the division.

Heavyweights dominate British boxing awards

On Sunday, the British Boxing Board of Control's annual awards took place, and there was a heavyweight feel.

WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley picked up the award for Boxer of the Year, while his fellow countryman Moses Itauma was the Boxing Writers Young Boxer of the Year.

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk was named the Overseas Boxer of the Year.

Other notable award winners include Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. who won the Contest of the Year for last April's battle at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
