Oscar De La Hoya believes that the best version of Manny Pacquiao would knock out Terence Crawford.

In 2008, in the final fight of his career, De La Hoya was stopped by Pacquiao, the only time in his career that he was beaten before the final bell.

The result made Pacquiao an instant superstar and he then pushed on to defeat more big names including Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto.

De La Hoya would put his focus into Golden Boy Promotions, and he quickly became one of the most powerful men in boxing outside the ropes as he staged many huge shows and guided multiple young fighters.

Canelo Alvarez was one of those boxers, and although their relationship would come to a bitter end, the Mexican icon still remains one of the biggest names in boxing today.

On September 13, Canelo welcomes Crawford to super-middleweight and the pair will do battle in one of the year’s grandest sporting events

De La Hoya, who recently participated in an interview doing knockout rounds for boxers, had no doubt who would come out on top between Pacquiao and Crawford.

“Oh at their prime? Asked De La Hoya when speaking to Mail Sport Boxing

“Yeah [Manny] Pacquiao, knockout.”
