Charles Martin knows what it takes to become heavyweight world champion after a brief reign in 2016 before losing his crown to Anthony Joshua .
Despite that setback nine years ago, Martin is still an active fighter, and he will be a keen observer this weekend when a big heavyweight bout takes place.
Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley are two of the leading contenders to face Oleksandr Usyk next year, and they will collide on Saturday night to decide who will go into 2026 as the man on Usyk's radar.
Both men enter the battle in a confident manner, and they have each registered impressive wins heading into this showdown.
Parker, since losing to Joe Joyce in 2022, has out together an impressive run which has included points wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.
Parker goes into the fight a significant favourite largely thanks to his extra experience, but Martin believes that Wardley’s difference can play a major part in the fight.
“That’s going to be a great fight. I want to say Wardley, he got a punch,” said Martin when speaking to Boxing News.
“One thing about it he can be getting beat up the whole fight and then land something and it be over. Plus, I want to fight him.”
Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley fight on Saturday, October 25, to become the WBO mandatory challenger to Oleksandr Usyk. Watch the fight and undercard live and exclusive on DAZN PPV.
