Pierce O'Leary set for Maxi Hughes test after Mark Chamberlain illness

DAZN
Ultimate Tier: PPVs & 185 fight nights included

Pierce O'Leary will face Maxi Hughes in just under a fortnight after Mark Chamberlain was forced to withdraw from the pair's planned bout.

The former was set to face the Englishman on the undercard of Jazza Dickens and Anto Cacace's WBA super-featherweight clash in Dublin.

However, after Chamberlain failed to recover from an infection that left him hospitalised, Hughes has been drafted in as his replacement.

Introducing DAZN Ultimate Tier

The star previously lost a WBA lightweight eliminator against Bakhodur Usmonov in December, and has been seeking a return to the ring.

Queensberry Promotions boss Frank Warren professed hope that O'Leary and Chamberlain may be able to reschedule for a later date.

The pair's intended bout would have teed off a superb headline bout between Dickens, minted last December as champion, and Cacace.
