'Sweet' Caroline Dubois dazzles in unanimous decision win over Camilla Panatta before putting Alycia Baumgardner on her radar

Ring VI: López vs Stevenson on DAZN PPV - Jan 31

During the buildup to Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua on Friday night, Caroline Dubois said she disagreed with “talk about Alycia Baumgardner being the face of women’s boxing and the best woman boxer.”

She then went out and used the prelims of Paul vs. Joshua, which has Baumgardner vs. Leila Beaudoin as the chief support, and made a statement.

In her first fight since signing with Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and debut bout in America, Dubois defeated Italian fighter Camila Panatta via unanimous decision at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Judges scored it 99-90 across the board for Dubois, who dropped Panatta with a raucous right hook in the sixth round and never let up toward a successful defense of her WBC lightweight title.

When Ariel Helwani asked Dubois live on Netflix if she wants Baumgardner next, the 24-year-old exercised some restraint but let it be known that the mega bout is on her radar.

“Not next,” Dubois said, “but definitely down the line.”

On Friday night, Dubois thoroughly outclassed Panatta, nearly doubling up the challenger in punch output, 115-60, for a 36 percent clip.
