Will Chris Eubank show up for his son ahead of Conor Benn fight? Ben Shalom provides big update
Ben Shalom fully expects Chris Eubank to make an appearance in the build-up to his son’s contest with Conor Benn , live on DAZN , on April 26.
So far, Eubank Sr has been absent in all of the pre-fight activities, and this has caused Benn to make numerous insults regarding the relationship between father and son.
At the peak of his powers, Eubank was a feared operator who reigned as world champion in two weight classes during the golden days of British boxing in the 1990s
His legendary rivalry with Nigel Benn , the dad of Conor, is the platform for this modern feud and it appears that hostilities between the families is still there.
At an event to publicise the event last week, Benn was attacked with an egg by Eubank Jr , a reference to the reason that was offered for why an adverse finding was found in Benn’s drug test back in 2022.
The incident has made the rivalry more intense, and it took a huge number of security guards to prevent further chaotic scenes from breaking out.
Due to the nature of the father’s fights, it had been hoped that Chris Sr would be around to help sell the event, but so far, his absence has been well documented.
Shalom, Eubank Jr’s promoter, has been a huge part of the act so far and he is confident we will see Eubank Sr before fight night.
“We will see him,” said Shalom when speaking to BetFred .
“I think it’s important to Chris Eubank Jr that he's the manager of his career, he chooses his trainer, he chooses his camp, but at the same time, that’s his dad and he wants his dad in his corner.
“I think we’re going to see it and we’ll see it at the right time.”
