Deshaun Watson will keep his starting job for Week 2, as Todd Monken confirmed that he will play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After a less-than-surprising 34-10 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Watson will remain as QB1, with Shedeur Sanders as his backup.
Monken claims that "there were some good things on film" from Watson's performance.
The veteran quarterback threw for 205 yards, one touchdown and one interception, with a RTG of 97.7
Watson was also sacked five times during the game.
Throughout all of training camp, the ongoing battle for the starting quarterback in Cleveland took the headlines.
When Monken announced Watson as QB1 a couple of weeks ago, the decision was heavily criticised, given both QBs' performances through the preseason games.

Next game, Watson will face the crowd in Tampa Bay, giving him one more game until he has to face Browns fans at home.
Recent backlash towards the QB has come from Cleveland's fans, who booed him on their last preseason home game.
As much as Monken would like to give Watson a chance, he also has to keep his fanbase happy.
It's not like Watson's numbers were far better than Sanders' during the preseason in the only game both of them played against the Bills; in fact, they were worse.
Based on their performance on Sunday, the Browns would not necessarily be taking a risk; rather, an opportunity to see someone different at the helm.
