Founded in 1976, the Seattle Seahawks spent years finding their footing before Mike Holmgren’s arrival marked a turning point, guiding the franchise to its first Super Bowl appearance in 2006.
Nearly a decade later, under Pete Carroll, quarterback Russell Wilson and the famed 'Legion of Boom' defense returned Seattle to the Super Bowl at XLVIII, before another appearance followed the very next season.
After a long wait, the Seahawks reached the Super Bowl again at Super Bowl LX in February 2026.
Here, we break down every Seahawks Super Bowl appearance and answer the question: how many Super Bowls have the Seattle Seahawks won?

Seattle’s first trip to the Super Bowl came at the end of the 2005 season, and it was a bruising, stop-start affair.
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck managed a touchdown for the Seahawks but also threw a costly interception. Shaun Alexander, arguably the league's best running back at the time, racked up 95 yards on the ground.
Though not a moment the Seahawks want to dwell upon, the game marked a fun first.
The Seahawks stifled Steelers' QB Ben Roethlisberger for most of the night, but it simply wasn't enough.
Seattle's final four drives ended with two punts, an interception, and a turnover on downs, allowing Pittsburgh to record the win.

Seattle’s first Super Bowl victory came in 2014, when, facing Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, the Seahawks delivered a defensive masterclass in a 43-8 blowout.
The Legion of Boom set the tone immediately, forcing mistakes and suffocating Denver from the opening snap, leading to a safety.
On a defense boasting stars such as Richard Sherman, Bobby Wagner, Kam Chancellor and Co., it was little-known linebacker Malcolm Smith who stole the spotlight, earning Super Bowl MVP honors after a dominant all-around performance that included a pick-six and a fumble recovery.
Offensively, quarterback Russell Wilson threw two touchdowns, Marshawn Lynch rumbled in for another on the ground, and the special teams piled on the pressure when Percy Harvin returned a kickoff for a score.
This ending cut deep. Holding a late fourth-quarter lead and seemingly on the verge of a second straight championship, the Seahawks watched Tom Brady engineer two late touchdown drives in the final minutes.
Seattle still had one last opportunity, moving the ball to the goal line in the closing seconds. But in one of the most famous plays in recent memory, the game ended abruptly, with Russell Wilson’s pass intercepted, sealing one of the most agonising defeats in Super Bowl history.
Seattle waited more than a decade to prepare for their fourth Super Bowl appearance, and from the opening kickoff, it quickly became clear they intended to make up for lost time.
Running back Kenneth Walker was on fire throughout, carrying over his fine form from the Seahawks' playoff run.
The 25-year-old tailback moved the offense efficiently enough to keep New England on the back foot, while Jason Myers’ three first-half field goals built a 9-0 halftime lead.
Seattle tightened its grip after the half through another Myers field goal, before Derick Hall forced a pivotal fumble, and Darnold finally found the end zone in the fourth quarter on a strike to tight end A.J. Barner.
A brief Patriots response was quickly erased by a Julian Love interception, before Seattle’s defense delivered the knockout blow with a strip-sack returned for a touchdown.
The 29-13 win sealed Seattle’s second Lombardi Trophy, a measure of revenge for Super Bowl XLIX, and a defining moment in Darnold’s redemption story.
Kenneth Walker was awarded the Super Bowl MVP, but he didn't stand alone as the Seahawks' hero.
Seattle's defense, self-titled 'The Dark Side', dominated long stretches, emerging from the shadow of 'The Legion of Boom' to become legendary in their own right.
Mike Macdonald, in only his second year as the Seahawks' head coach, would be immortalised in franchise history for his tactical acumen.
And Myers, by finishing 5/5 on the night, set a new record for the most field goals in Super Bowl history.
As noted above, the Seahawks have won the Super Bowl twice: in 2014 and 2026.
As outlined, the Seahawks are the reigning Super Bowl champions, having defeated Mike Vrabel's New England Patriots on 8 February, 2026.
