New York Jets fans can rejoice.
Late Friday night, the team announced that starting quarterback Justin Fields will play on Monday night against the Miami Dolphins. The game can be seen on NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. US and China).
"Justin is playing," Jets Head Coach Aaron Glenn said on Saturday morning.
Fields suffered a concussion in the Jets' Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills when his head got slammed to the turf by Bills defensive end Nick Bosa. He spent a week in the NFL's concussion protocol. Fields went on to practice three consecutive days and then got released from the protocol so he could play on Monday Night Football.
Without Fields, the Jets struggled for the majority of their Week 3 29-27 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Tyrod Taylor replacing him.
In Week 1, Fields showed why he's one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL, going 16 of 22 for 218 yards, with three total touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) in their 34-32 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Jets look to avoid going 0-4 for the first time since the 2020 season. They haven't beaten their AFC East rival in Miami since 2014.
