The Patriots open their season in Foxborough against the Raiders in a showdown between two storied AFC franchises looking to reclaim a prominent place in the conference.
Here's everything you need to know ahead of the Raiders vs Patriots.
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel returns to the franchise where he first made his name as a player, now charged with helping second-year quarterback Drake Maye spearhead an offense built around explosive rookie runner TreVeyon Henderson and talented veteran wideout Stefon Diggs.
The Raiders unveil their own revamped attack. Quarterback Geno Smith joins forces with dynamic rookie back Ashton Jeanty and record-setting tight end Brock Bowers in hopes of sparking a more successful era in Las Vegas.
Both defenses will have plenty to say about the outcome. Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby remains one of the league’s most disruptive forces, while New England hands a debut to signing Milton Williams, a defensive tackle with the power to dominate on the interior.
It’s a high-stakes opener, as Vrabel and Las Vegas’ Pete Carroll, the oldest head coach in NFL history, compete to launch their tenures with a statement victory.

Both offenses struggle early, struggling to establish offensive cohesion. It's no great surprise, considering the wholesale personnel changes both teams have made during the offseason.
Jeanty and Bowers have all the talent in the world, but the Raiders' offensive line is overwhelmed by Williams and the Patriots' defensive line, making opportunities for consistent gains few and far between.
Maye has some shaky moments when pressured by Crosby and Malcolm Koonce, but does just enough to deliver the win on home turf.
