Divisional rivalries are renewed in Week 1 with the Seattle Seahawks hosting the San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers remain a Super Bowl contender, but keeping the likes of Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey and Nick Bosa to name a few healthy will be vital if Kyle Shanahan is to finally lead the franchise to its first Vince Lombardi trophy since 1994.
For the Seahawks, a lot of the attention will be on starting quarterback Sam Darnold after he revived his career in Minnesota last season. Can he continue his impressive form despite not having receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett at his disposal, or will Darnold stutter without any obvious receiving outlet?
Here's everything you need to know ahead of Seahawks vs 49ers.
This all-NFC West matchup kicks off at 4:05pm on the East Coast, which means a 9:05pm start in the UK on Sunday, September 7.
The game will take place at Lumen Filed, the home of the Seahawks.
The stadium is known for the noise created by the passionate Seahawks fanbase and has a capacity of 68,740.
The one area of concern for me is whether the Seahawks defense can contain an exciting 49ers offense.
Going up against the likes of McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle, the 49ers often have a tendency to blow teams away and seize control in quick time.
With the Seahawks opting for youth in the form of eight and three rookies on offense and defense respectively, fans will have to be patient as the team builds for the future and which means on Sunday I can only see a win from the 49ers.
Seahawks 10-27 49ers
