NFL players to wear custom footwear in support of 'My Cause, My Cleats' initiative
NFL players will be sporting some special shoes as part of the "My Cause, My Cleats" initiative.
During Weeks 13 and 14, players from around the league will wear customized cleats to represent their chosen non-profit organization. The footwear will display logos and designs that are intended to bring awareness to causes important to the players, with all players having the option of putting their cleats up for auction, with proceeds going to the respective causes.
"We are thrilled to once again provide players, coaches and team staff the platform to showcase causes that are meaningful to them on the field through My Cause, My Cleats," said NFL Senior Vice President of Player Operations Tracy Perlman. "The record levels of participation in this season's initiative underscore the collective commitment across the league to making a positive difference in our communities."
Additionally, fans will be able to make donations to players' causes without bidding on cleats, should they so choose.
