A number of QB-needy teams will be watching this week’s quarterback drills closely.

As is often the norm, the quarterback class of the 2024 NFL Draft is set to be the most in-demand position group once the first round gets underway in Detroit in April.

At this stage two months out, there is something of a consensus that USC’s Caleb Williams will be the first player taken overall, with Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye quickly following.

After this trio, there is another batch of quarterbacks vying for a first-round selection. The likes of Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, Washington’s Micheal Penix Jr and Bo Nix of Oregon are hoping to see their draft stock rise before the event begins and that starts with this week’s scouting combine.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, all three have confirmed that they will participate in the throwing drills at Lucas Oil Stadium this week in an effort to convince the many QB-needy teams of their franchise quarterback potential.

This comes after Williams and Daniels declined to take part in any drill, opting to wait until their college pro days to perform in front of scouts and coaches. The quarterbacks will take to the field in Indianapolis on Saturday, hoping to catch the eye of teams in need of a new quarterback.
