Geno Smith isn't worried about exacting any kind of "revenge" against his old team this weekend.
Smith and the Seahawks will play host to the New York Jets on Sunday in a match-up that will pit the Seattle quarterback against the team with whom he spent his first four NFL seasons. The 34-year-old has been a bit of a nomad since leaving the Jets, having spent time with the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers before settling in Seattle, where he spent three seasons as a backup before winning the starter's job in 2022.
Smith has led the Seahawks to the top of the tightly packed NFC West heading into Week 13, and the veteran QB has a dogfight of a divisional title race on his hands which keeps him from focusing on getting one over on his old team for spite's sake.
"I've always had tremendous love and respect for that organization, [that's] obviously the team that drafted me, gave me a chance out the gate," Smith told reporters on Wednesday.
“As far as the revenge thing, that’s not on my mind.”
The game will be available in a number of regions for free via NFL Game Pass on DAZN.
